Absolutely. Power washing is a critical first step in our exterior painting process. We thoroughly clean all surfaces to remove dirt, mildew, loose paint, and chalking. After washing, we scrape and feather-sand all areas where paint has failed, then spot-prime bare wood with Sherwin Williams Exterior Wood Primer. We allow adequate drying time before applying any finish coats.

For siding, we use Sherwin Williams Emerald Rain Refresh or Benjamin Moore Regal Select — both offer superior UV resistance, mildew protection, and flexibility for coastal climates. Trim receives BM Regal Select High Build for excellent coverage. Foundation walls get SW Loxon Self-Cleaning Acrylic, and masonry surfaces receive PPG Perma-Crete (high build, alkali and efflorescence resistant). All applied by brush and roll — never spraying.

We caulk all vertical joints and gaps to prevent moisture intrusion. However, horizontal joints are intentionally left uncaulked to allow proper moisture drainage — this is an industry best practice that prevents trapped water from causing rot. Hardi-Plank vertical butt joints are caulked only upon client request, as the manufacturer's installation guide does not require it.
